Articling Students Teplitsky, Colson hires 2 to 4 articling students each year. We follow the policies, procedures and guidelines established by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Compensation and benefits are competitive and are adjusted from year to year. We do not have a formal summer student program. However, individual partners occasionally hire summer students to assist with particular matters. With respect to what we are looking for in our articling students, diversity in personality, education and experience are not only accepted but encouraged. The qualities that we require without exception, however, are a desire for excellence, a passion for advocacy, independence, self-confidence (but not arrogance) and a willingness to learn by becoming an integral member of a litigation team in which you will gain real-life, hands-on experience. If you are interested in completing your articles of clerkship with our firm and require further information, please feel free to speak with a member of our articling committee or one of our current articling students through our general contact number. Applications may be submitted in person or by mail, fax or e-mail to the address set out below. Associates Teplitsky, Colson continues its steady growth. While we try to grow from within, from time to time we recruit associates from outside the firm to provide a particular skill set or fill a gap in seniority. We also maintain in strict confidence an active file of individuals who have expressed an interest in joining our firm. The qualities sought in our associates are the same as those sought in articling students, with the addition of pertinent legal experience, a confirmed interest in a career as an advocate and the willingness to uphold the best traditions of our privileged profession and the bar in particular – we are barristers after all.
